Gravity waves in the morning pre-storm fog...
This has to have been of the best days for weather time lapse action, outside my house, in a very long time.
A massive inbound storm brought some unusual mid-level activity the evening before... By the morning of the 21st low clouds and drizzle had saturated the ground levels resulting in a lot of low clouds sloshing around the foothills. The odd thing is that the wind never exceeded 2kts. Dead calm and still all this 'violent' cloud action.
Ah, the effects of gravity waves on the clouds.
A nice pair of thunderstorms rolled over the city accompanied with about .17" of rainfall.
